Air Con Pump

i bought tdi ghia x few weeks ago new that air con pump was shot but saving up to buy new one , went out friday car smelling of burning plastic and loud grinding noice from engine into garage thought it was engine bearing gone stripped belts etc not them found out to be shaft from pump was shot and had obviously moved which in turn had been grinding on casings hence bad smell and grinding so no time to save up thank god for flexi friends

i would recommend if you can get your galaxy up on ramps and check out pipe work on cat just got to mine in time before rusted through managed to cut out bad section and weld new piece on

aslo check jacking points mine has had some rough treatment with all four corners with large dents in sills from garages not locating arms correctly on lifts check them before going into garage and check when come out at least you can get a bit of compo

Sorry to hear of your misfortunes and hope that you will get everything sorted out soon.

Galaxy does not appear to be that cheap a car to run - bear in mind it is sold as a premium vehicle and needs more spending on it than, say, a Mondeo or Vectra.
